How do you remove bandage adhesive residue left on the skin after removal?

I still have a bandage there that's not allowed to get wet, but it's smaller than the first and there is gross sticky grotty stuff left behind on my skin from the previous bandage!

How can I get rid of the stuff without doing anything bad to the one currently there? How do you remove bandage adhesive residue left on the skin after removal?
Alcohol on a cotton ball will work wonders. How do you remove bandage adhesive residue left on the skin after removal?
You got the three options below in the other responses

Try one after the other but the rubbing alcohol will work because you will most likely have that at home.
Try some vegetable oil. Then wash off the mess with soap and water. The others work too, but vegetable oil won't sting if it gets into an open wound.
Acetone or nail polish remover will also work.
